XBM Fitness Live the Challenge
Well I made it survived 8 weeks of Hell yes Hell… BUT incredible and amazing… I cannot belive that I survived although there were a couple times I was hoping someone would bring me oxygen! I cannot Thank Tony and Heather of www.xbmfitness.comenough for the support and encouragement these last 8 weeks. Truly I accomplished physically more than I thought this “43″ yr old body could.
The first week we ran a mile and the fact that I ran the whole was was an amazing feat in and of itself… Here I am 8 weeks later and I did it again. Not only did I make it but I shaved almost 2 minutes off of my first time. Not only that but I actually participated in a 5 Mile Mud Run, ran a 5 K and survived… HUGE for me and I managed to tackle the 5K in about 35 min.. I know to some that is a very long time for some of you fitness machines but as a former “chunker with 2 bad knees” this was DAMN impressive
So here are the results:
Weight Lost – 11 lbs
Body Fat Loss 5%
The best part is that I have found a new and much more “productive addiction” YES I am hooked and will continue. My goal is to lose about 10 – 12% body fat and hopefully will accomplish this by the end of the year!!

I love Improv Everywhere – they ROCK!
Their latest project was called Subway Yearbook Photos.
Basically, they told everyone who got on the 6 train in NYC that they were hired by MTA to do a yearbook. How fun is THAT?
I bet being set up on there was totally fun. Of course, some people where a bit hesitant but once they saw others getting into it and having fun with it .. they sat down to get their yearbook picture done too.
Here’s a video of the project:

You have to go to their site and read the rest of it. I love this and would have LOVED being a part of it even more. I can totally see some of my photographer friends doing something like this.
Phone Photography by Joel Grey
How many times have you been somewhere in the last 3-4 years and whipped out your phone to use as a camera?
I, myself, do it all the time…and I’ve gotten some real interesting shots of people and things that I normally wouldn’t be able to capture ‘cos I didn’t have my real camera.
Joel Grey, 77, best known for his Tony- and Oscar-winning performance in “Cabaret” has also used his phone to catch moments that would otherwise pass him by…he has been quoted as saying, “The thing about the phone is that it’s always with you.”
He used his Nokia 133, with a 1.3 megapixel camera to shoot for about a year, as he travelled, catching scenes like the one below. He collaborated with Sam Shahid and came up with the book, 1.3: Images From My Phone (Powerhouse Books, 120 pp. $29.95)

Children Stolen then given up for adoption.
I was reading an article in the LA Times a couple weeks ago and it completely touched me, enraged me and broke my heart. The basic premise of the article was this: It has been revealed that a number of children who were adopted from China over the past few years were not given up for adoption by the parents.. THEY WERE STOLEN from them. The rage and the heartbreak that I felt when I read this was incredible then it hit me…. If this is true what do the adoptive parents do now knowing that their child was not given freely but taken right from the arms of the parents or other times from another relative while Mom and Dad were at work. I am not sure how many adoptive parents have been told or will be told if their child was one of those who are part of this investigation but nevertheless this one got my wheels spinning…
OMG what would I do if I were the adoptive parent… I thought about this many times over the past couple weeks and to be honest I am not sure…. Truthfully I do not know that there is a clear cut right answer BUT I am DAMN curious what you would do…
- Do you not say anything and let it go???
- Do you try to reconnect with birth parents??
- If you do reconnect with birth parents do you give the child back??
Art Installation – Streaming Books
I came across this entry on Designer Verb showcasing an art installation by Alicia Martin. I LOVE how clever it is and I love in the video below that the older gentleman seems to be reading from the cascading books – haha. Very clever. I wonder how long it took to do something like this?
Check it out.

I think it’s cool knowing that it’s hollow inside …

My Therapist is a Toy Killer – HELP PLEASE
Well as many of you know my Therapist is really my sweet baby white (well sometimes white) lab puppy “Lexi” she is 10 1/2 months old now and could not be any cuter or sweeter!! She truely makes my heart smile every day! BUT and yes you knew this was coming she is a TOY DESTROYER. Seriously I am going to need to get a 2nd or 3rd job just to keep this little yummy stinker toy happy!! OMG is there anything that is Lexi proof?? Well the only thing I have found that is close is the “KONG” toy and well she gets bored with it pretty DAMN quick.
SO all you pet lovers HELP ME PLEASE!! I need toy advice and I need it now. What is the best DAMN dog toy out there… Help now please!!

I not a Destucto Girl... Promise

Here she is at only at a couple months old and who would have thought this sweet face could be such a toy killer!! We are very lucky as she does not get into anything that is not “HERS” she does not touch shoes, furniture, baseboards, or other items that she has not had the green light to play with… PHEW!!

Seriously... Yes, I am this DAMN cute
I am neurotic and so are you!
I saw this book (i am neurotic (and so are you)) in the bookstore a couple weeks ago and found myself picking it up to thumb through it because .. hello .. I can be a little neurotic sometimes. I think that it reminds me a bit of postsecret in a way. We all have our secrets and things that have to be so so.
I actually LOVE that about people and have always loved figuring out what makes my friends and family tick. In fact, this book is now on my wish list. I think it’s a great conversation starter.
A couple of mine … crooked pictures drive me batty – I have to straighten them when I walk by them. I need to know all the downstairs doors and windows are locked (as is my car) before I can go to sleep and when I put away the pans from the dish washer, I have to wrap my lips over my teeth, because I don’t like the sound the metal makes when it touches other pans. Not sure WHY the lips help … but they do – haha. One of Zac’s biggest ones is wrinkles in his clothes … not sure where THAT came from since I rarely drag an iron out … but he can’t STAND it and will even get the iron out to touch up his jeans after they’ve been washed.
You can click on these images to see the page in closer details (so you can read).
So after flipping through the pages of this book it made me wonder more about what OTHER neurotic tenancies I have. Which leads me to the DAMN QUESTION:
What neurotic tenancies do YOU have?
