Hang Over Cures… What’s Yours?

I recently had way to much Killer Red wine - Hmmmm..

From what I recall it was either Silkwood “Red Duet” or Hunt Cellars “Unforgettable Merlot” or was it Montes “Alpha Cab”?  Actually, I think it was ALL THREE…

Well needless to say the next morning my head was pounding and my world was spinning. I posted how crappy I felt on Face Book and the suggestions I got were great.

Here are some of them:

Pedialyte and a Banana

Tylenol or Aleve prior to going to bed

B-12 prior to going to bed

Big glass of water before bed and right when you rise and shine in the AM. **Not sure about the shining part as the only shiny thing I saw was the Toilet.

So here’s my question… What is your DAMN hangover cure??

Here’s my damn answer: the next day, a big, greasy fry up…bacon, eggs, toast, OJ, coffee and a bloody mary to blunt the effects.

    Hi Cathy,
Unfortunately, I have had experience with a bad hangover! (Not proud to admit) But, we’re being honest, right? Definitely take the Tylenol or Advil before bed with lots of water and in the a.m., more Tylenol or Advil and water. By noon, if you still aren’t feeling well, greasy Mexican Food always does the trick! And, if that still doesn’t help, have a Cerveza with your lunch if it’s the weekend! (Am I bad?)

My tried and true remedy is an alka seltzer at bedtime and one first thing in the morning. Or just drag over to the convenience store at 7 am for another 12 pack of Bud. This seems to work well also.

I have tried quite a few and what worked for my roommates and I in college was Advil and Gatorade before bed and then mc donalds breakfast in the morning.

Tried and true … eat about four tums, take two advil and drink a glass of water before you go to bed. A bartender I knew told me that the tums break up the alcohol in your stomach and will help it to be digested a little easier/faster so that your body isn’t AS depleted of what it needs.

The only thing is … if you’re REALLY had too much to drink … even the tropical tums taste like chalk and make ya want to upchuck. You STILL have to power through it though … no tums in means HUGE HANGOVER!

I usually eat a big greasy hamburger. It has too be a greasy hamburger and not one of those heart healthy things. I also hydrate with lots of water. Then there are those mornings when there is NO cure and you just have to have the hair of the dog.

a pillow on the floor of the bathroom and a blanket to cut the chill of the tile.

cause crawling naked across the floor to reach the bathroom before you unload is so undignified.

Hands down….. non-drowsy dramamine if you must be up and about the next day. Otherwise do yourself a favor and take the full fledged original drowsy dramamine. You’ll be thanking me. Tried and true from many a forgotten night (in college of course)

OMG I love all these remedies and the best part is that there is sooooooooooooo much wine in my future that I have a feeling I will be able to test them all out!! :)
