Hubby and I were in Chicago last weekend for his company Holiday Party. Brrrrrr is an understatement but we thought one way to warm us up was to dig into, Yes you got it a big fat, high calorie, cheesy yummy deep dish Chicago style pizza. We found it at Geno’s East Pizzeria this place is a staple in this town and after just one bit it is no wonder. The restaurant had great atmosphere and not only a local favorite but a travelers delight!! I do not know how they get their deep dish pizza to taste that good but it was off the charts. Everything about it was incredible down to the crust and the very last bite!!
Needless to say the next time we are in Chicago this is one place we will visit again!!

Wow, I am beyond jealous of that pie! I love Chicago Pizza! Glad you got of there before the weather really turned!
Cathy- Glad you found one of my favorite Chicago eateries–Gino’s East is great. I didn’t travel to Illinois this holiday–glad I made that call because I probably would have been stuck at O’Hare! After missing the family–missing the pizza is high up there!
PS Somewhere on the wall in one of the big dining rooms is my name written on the wall–unless they’ve repainted since 2006!

For those of you in Santa Clarita…my husband has perfected the Chicago Style Deep Dish pizza that Jody had at Gino’s & you can also find at Lou Malnati’s! It is typically made at our house once a week, we’d love to share!!

Having seen the pictures and talk of Gino’s East, I had to order up a couple of pies from the website. Oh how I miss a good slice of Gino’s East. And yes, my name is on the wall somewhere too!

I’ve only been to Ginos East once many years ago, but I still remember the yummy pizza! (and it was dang cold in Chicago then too).
