So when we were up in Visalia a few weeks ago for the Top of the Line show, we decided to go back to Visalia for Thanksgiving .. who knew ;-). There is a grandparent/grandkid golf tourney on Saturday and of course Zac wants to play. This also means we’ll be there for the family photo. We asked what to wear and they told us whatever … don’t they realize that is WAY to vague? I mean really, we could come in our Pirate Costumes … might be fun now that I think about it … the nieces and nephews would LOVE it …
So I agreed to bring food. I decided to go with a dip and a side dish that are tried and true for us …

and the Prosciutto wrapped Asparagus

My Mom called the other day and asked if I could set up the Christmas City while I was home and then take it down at Christmas because she’s just not feeling up to it with her back. Of course I will. I need current photos anyhow. So we’re going to help decorate her house and then come home and do ours. Although … I’m the first to admit that I don’t do nearly as much decorating as my Mom does. Her whole house becomes Christmas. I love it, but I don’t think I could do it here because the clutter would drive me MAD after a week or so.
Anyhow … before I head off to spend the weekend … figured I’d do my “Top 5 Things to be Thankful For” list.
Top five things I am thankful for:
- Ron - who seriously is my rock. Without him, my life would seriously be on a different path. He is the most loving and supportive man evah.
- Zac - being the parent to this young man has been awesome yet challenging. I believe that he will turn out to be something amazing if he stays on track
- My family - even though they are crazy … I am reminded that I am lucky that we all get along and would seriously do anything for each other when push came to shove.
- My friends … old and new … you rock. Especially the ladies of Where’s My Damn Answer … you rock super hard and I can’t wait to see all the new beginnings start come 2009.
- My doggies … because whenever I’m sad, frustrated, angry or hurt … they nuzzle up next to me and try to make it better
I’m sure there are plenty more … like my health, my brain, etc. but then my list would go on forever so I figure top 5 is BEST.
So … what is on your “Top 5 Things to Be Thankful For” list?
