Positive Post Tuesday?

I recently added a new blog to my google reader - Brody Harper. I’m digging his entries so far.

I find it interesting that just this morning I was thinking as I was reading (yes - I think about other stuff as I read which results in me having to read it again - haha) the words of Eckhart Tolle, that I really want to live life with as little pain-body as possible. What a great exercise to help keep the positive flow in our life. I like it.

So my first positive post will be about The Boy.  I came across this the other day when cleaning up my pc. I wrote this for him September 2001 for a school project - he was about 6 yrs old then. I find it funny that he still does a lot of the same things I wrote about back then. For all the times I’ve written about wanting to strangle him, I wouldn’t change a thing if I could do it all over again. He is a gift that I am thankful for. He is a challenge for me … and I love him more than words could ever say.  I can’t wait to see what he does once he realizes what his real potential is - it will happen right? … someday? ;-).

Hmmmmm …. Why do I love Zachary … this could be an all day event !!

I Love …

The way he loves me …

The way he gives me hugs and kisses every day …

The way he helps his friends when they are in need …

The look he gets in his eyes when he sees a fire truck or police car …

The way he dances and tries to know all the words to every song …

The way he seems to know things that nobody else ever does …

The way he kisses and loves a baby …

His beautiful loving eyes …

His sense of humor …

The way he tells everyone in his life how beautiful they are …

The pictures he draws to show his feelings …

The gentle way he has with animals …

The inquisitiveness he has with life and love …

The way he can strike up a conversation with anyone …

His cute little butt …

Watching him struggle with who he is going to marry this week …

Listening to him promise he wont be a scrub …

The way he remembers everyone who has touched his life & when the opportunity arises tells them how much he loves & misses them …

The way he welcomes everyone into his world …

The look of concentration on his face when he is trying to figure something out …

For not letting anyone leave without a hug …

For playing golf with the guys and still wanting to pick daisies for me …

For reminding me everyday that I have angels watching over me … as they sent me him …

For letting me play with the cooler police car …

Opening the door for me like a gentleman should …

But most of all … I love Zachary for being himself !!

Zachary … always remember … I love YOU the most  … Mommy

Awesome post. Thanks for participating. Kids are amazing, even when they are driving you crazy.

    Thanks for inspiring it :-D
Yeah AFTER I made the post - he did something dumb and lost play station for the day leaving me to think, “why did I make that post about him?” hahah. Maybe just to remind me that I love him even when I’m correcting him.

That was so sweet - I have seen glimpses of some of these things by being involved with your family!
He and I had a blast the other night making cookies…maybe one day I’ll venture out and get my own “boy” or “girl”
for now, it’s the Beast and I and a house full of cat hair.
    great post!

Cathy … yeah you know that one minute I wanna kill him and then I wanna hug him. It’s a tough (albeit rewarding) job.

Melody - welcome :-D Thanks for the kind comment :-D

    Kristy-
Such a sweet post! There was a moment at the dinner the other night when I looked over and Zac had Linda’s “monkey” on his lap–and I thought what a great young man–taking time to pay attention to the little one! I hope that is tucked away somewhere for him. He’s going to really treasure that when he is older.

Yeah he LOVES lil kids and would be oh so happy if Ron and I wanted to have a lil brother or sister for him to have around. I think that comes from being the older cousin to all 15 of my nieces and nephews. He’s the second oldest of them all.
